Mesh Cable Trays

Mesh cable tray systems from OBO Bettermann offer appropriate solution for rapid, safe, and cost effective cable routing in all areas of professional electrical installations. It is designed to be used on a regular basis because the processes are well-thought-out and incredibly efficient. The mesh cable trays come in a range of surface patterns, allowing them to be utilised in both indoors and outdoors.

  • For indoors: Electro-galvanised surface suits more which is aesthetically attractive, making it appropriate for use in Offices, Shops & Hotels. (Heated building with neutral atmosphere)
  • For outdoors and industries: Hot-dip galvanised surface can be utilised because of its extra zinc thickness coating.
  • For food and chemical industries: A2 Stainless Steel variant can be employed due to its ability to handle high chemical loads while being resistant to cleaning agents.
  1. FT – Hot-dip galvanized – As per DIN EN ISO 1461
  2. G – Electrogalvanized – As per IEC 12329
  3. A2 – Stainless Steel ( SS 1.4301)

Types of Wire Mesh Cable trays

OBO Mesh cable trays are divided into two types:

1. Heavy-duty SGR mesh cable trays (side height – 55mm & 105mm)

2. The regular GR mesh cable trays (side height - 55mm & 105mm)

The Heavy-Duty SGR mesh cable trays has a 6mm thickness in U-profile and has low intrinsic weight, but it can sustain loads up to 110 percent higher than the standard wire mesh cable trays available in the market and can be utilised for greater support spacing of up to 4.0 m. Here we simulate the loads that the mesh cable tray systems have to withstand on a constant basis. We determine the system's maximum load capacity and carrying capacity, as well as its corrosion resistance. To put it another way, OBO values safety above everything else.

The second being the standard mesh cable tray, is designed to hold lesser weights. Mesh cable trays can't always run in a straight line. It can be hung horizontally, vertically, or in an unconventional position. The large mesh openings allow cables and lines to be fed in and out at any place, while the open construction allows heat to escape, preventing the collection of dirt and dust. Our mesh cable trays provide magnetic shield insulation of 15dB without cover and 25dB with cover.

Installation time is important when choosing a product, and all OBO's products are simple to setup, giving more flexibility. This mesh cable tray system also comes with a locking cover that is exceptionally convenient and easy to install and safeguards against external factors such as dirt and moisture. All OBO products are continually tested in our own BET test centre to ensure that they meet the appropriate standards.

Installation Principle

The system’s effectiveness is provided by the perfectly formed mesh cable tray complemented by the wide range of well thought out system components.

Exceptional ease of use is also a priority for all additional fastening and system components, for example: when creating bends of different radii with special corner connectors.

BET Testing

All the OBO articles and systems are subjected to practical load testing. The basic principle for the tests of the OBO cable support systems are as per IS/IEC 61537. After the load test, the maximum load capacity can be determined from each component, depending upon the support distances and specific articles parameters, such as component dimensions.
